After spending about 2 weeks planning and booking a trip to the beach, all I could think about was how nice it would be to have a little beach cabin to getaway to anytime we wanted. I thought about the think I would want the most would be a large covered deck with comfy chairs. Listen to the waves; read a book; stick your toes in the sand; just relax and forget about the rest of the world for a weekend anytime we wanted.

I made my retreat. Sure it is all in my head, but this way I don’t have maintenance costs, property taxes, or second utility billings. I am not really sure a beach retreat would be what I want since we aren’t that far from mountains. A mountain getaway might be something I couldn’t pass up.

I did this one in the Cycles render engine even though my machine is not liking Cycles. carefully working on one object and one texture at a time I managed not to crash the video card too many times. Thanks to Render Street, I didn’t have to wait days to render out the final images, and it was quite reasonable while being very fast. Render Street was a major saver for this project, without them, I don’t know that this project would have made it to the finish folder.

Can’t say I feel this is very polished final, but I think it is time for me to move on to another project before I loose complete interest in this one, and it never gets posted.
